We know that when the diagnosis is cancer the primary task for doctors is to choose the most proper therapy for the medical case.  On the other hand, how important is communication with the patient?
 
Does it make a difference how a doctor shares the diagnosis with the patient and how he explains the need for a radical and traumatic treatment - for example, breast amputation in case of breast cancer?
 
What are the most common problems in doctor-patient communication?
